Supported Holidays for Adults with Learning Disabilities

Everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy a break, experience new places and make great memories.

FocusAbility offers supported holidays for adults with learning disabilities and autism, providing the care and support individuals need to enjoy time away with confidence.

Our person-centred approach means we focus on the individual, their needs and their choices, helping them get the most from their holiday while encouraging independence wherever possible.

Making Holidays Accessible and Enjoyable

Going on holiday should be something to look forward to.

For some people, having the right support in place can make all the difference. FocusAbility’s supported holidays give individuals the opportunity to enjoy a break while receiving appropriate care and support from people who understand their needs.

We want the people we support to be able to enjoy new experiences, spend time with others and, most importantly, have fun.

Holidays Built Around the Individual

Just like our other services, our approach to supported holidays is person-centred.

FocusAbility’s wider care approach is based around providing individuals with maximum choice and control over their lives, with planned support appropriate to their individual needs.

Before a supported holiday, we can discuss the individual’s needs and the support they may require so that everyone involved knows what to expect.

A Chance to Experience Something Different

A supported holiday isn’t just about getting away from home. It can provide opportunities to:

  • Visit new places and enjoy new experiences
  • Build confidence and independence
  • Socialise and spend time with others
  • Try different activities
  • Enjoy a change of scenery and routine
  • Make new memories

For families and carers, knowing appropriate support is in place can also provide reassurance while their loved one enjoys their time away.

Supporting Choice & Independence

At FocusAbility, we believe people with learning disabilities and autism should have opportunities to live full and meaningful lives, with choice, control and independence at the heart of the support they receive.

Our supported holidays are another way of helping the people we support enjoy experiences and opportunities that are important to them.
