Community Supported living
YES, your own home!
FocusAbility's view of Community Supported Living is to encourage individuals to access the support and care they need to live as independently as possible.
We have found shared accommodation works for the people we support and significantly reduces the costs. It also enables us to ensure there is always support in the property when needed, day or night.
The property could be provided by yourselves or privately rented. Learning disability and physical disabilities have very different needs, that's why we spend as much time as needed to ensure properties and people are very well matched.
FocusAbility acknowledge this is a huge step for families to take. We will fully support you through this process and can introduce you to families that we have already helped gain more of an independent future.
In the last two years we have helped support six adults (to gain supported tenancies) to live in two properties in Glentham and Welton! This was such a big step for our service users and we can't wait to support more individuals gain their own independence in their own homes.
